Magtheridon defeated

Topic
06/11/08 - The head of Magtheridon was spotted adorning a spike outside Honor Hold after Epoch downed the Pit Lord last night. This kill means that we as a guild have successfully defeated all of the Tier 4 content.

The former Lord of Outland dropped 3 tokens for the T4 chest, which were won by Daemarth, Latreen and Peekah, and the Black Sack of Gems whose contents went to the guild bank. Magtheridon also dropped Zwarrior's new Glaive of the Pit, the Eredar Wand of Obliteration that went to Scrodo, and the Pit Lord's Satchel currently increasing Rethaa's bag space turning him into Epoch's very own loot pinata. In addition, Peekah won the roll to cart the head of Magtheridon back to Honor Hold earning him the Ring of the Recalcitrant upon turn-in.

Look out Hydross - we're coming for you next.

Raiding changes
Posted by admin on Saturday, January 19 @ 23:22:07 CST (94 reads)
Topic
Now that we as a guild have cleared Kara, downed High King Maulgar, and set our sights on Gruul, it's time for a few changes. The two Kara groups will merge back into one group per week now that more players have managed to snag the loot they want/need/desire from the raid.

Epoch's weekly raid schedule will now be as follows:

Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
Monday
*Raid instances reset* Gruul's Lair
Karazhan
Karazhan

Optional night for clearing last Kara bosses
ZA (optional Kara)
Guild PVP (Interested? Contact Recliner)

In addition to this new schedule, we're also introducing a new loot system. Epoch will be switching to using Suicide Kings - the system has also been implemented for GL runs and will soon be in place for Karazhan also. More information about SK can be found here at Wowwiki. We're using separate lists for each raid instance with additional lists for Tier 4 pieces to ensure that taking a minor upgrade from Karazhan doesn't mean a player loses their position on the loot list for Gruul's.
The current SK lists can be viewed at www.epochguild.com/sk_list.

Second raid is coming!

Topic Guild News
Starting this Tuesday Epoch will be sending two raid groups into Karazhan. As announced in Sunday's Guild Meeting, this change will bring many benefits for the guild as a whole. Having two balanced groups moving through Karazhan will allow more people to participate each week rather than having to sit out. And, importantly, Epoch will end up with people gaining raiding experience and the epic loots that will allow us to progress to larger content. What we're looking at is in many ways to how raiding was initially for Epoch. We're sure there will be times when having a smaller pool of raiders per group will present challenges and slow initial progression. However, we're confident that this will continue to be the case.

The groups have been created to be as balanced as possible of experience and skill. To ensure we didn't end up with either group seeming to gain precedence, the two teams have been christened Bert and Ernie.

The first few weeks as these changes come into play will be something of a test run for the groups. If your designated group's schedule doesn't work for you please send Kuramon your raiding availability either in-game or through the guild email (epochguild@gmail.com).

Sunday, September 16th - the Shade is no more.
Posted by Jadore on Monday, September 17 @ 23:34:20 CDT (88 reads)

After a few attempts (including one in which the old bugger was down to 1%), Epoch managed to down the Shade of Aran in a guild first. Downing Shade came after 5 hours of raiding, throughout which the group managed to pull together and keep their spirits high. Ventrilo rightfully exploded into cheering followed by hysterical laughter as raid leader Kuramon proceeded to slam his keyboard tray into his desk sending Mountain Dew over himself ... sometimes we do wonder how the poor boy manages to dress himself, let alone lead a raid group.

Of course, people always want to see the loot. Saberclaw Talisman and Boots of the Incorrupt dropped yesterday, with the latter going to Castingnow's healing set and the necklace being won on a roll by Kura.

Congratulations Guys (and girls, of course)!
Prince had better look out; Epoch's coming for him next.

Karazhan Progression
Posted by Jadore on Sunday, August 12 @ 21:31:22 CDT (88 reads)
Topic
We've added a new Progression page to the website giving members an easy way to see where we're currently sitting in Karazhan. Not only does the page give the current week's progress in addition to our overall progression, but each boss is also shown with a link to all the screenshots we have that feature Epoch members and that particular encounter. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Note: Some pictures are missing from the page because we don't have them yet! We know more people have been taking screenshots than the very few who've responded to our calls for pictures. Please send any screenshots you want to share to the guild email (epochguild@gmail.com) so that we can get both the progression page and our gallery updated.

Karazhan

Daemarth: "that would be the dreaded Uber-sheep, you don't want that"

Coloeb: "Undone, you gota be nerfed man"

Led by the amazingly calm Recliner, some of Epoch's finest ventured into the shadowy grounds of Karazhan Sunday night to take the guild's first look at the 10-man raid. Myself? I took my little level 65 butt over to Feralas and worked on my fishing skill while I listened in on vent. But here's what I gleaned...

Looking to the right, you can see that epochguild.com has a new Featured Player up - simply click on Silahsor's picture to read more about the crazy pally and how he PUGed his way to being Epoch's first member keyed for Kara.

The High Council wants to know which guild members you want to learn more about. In the forums we have an area set up for you to suggest people to be featured on the site; leave us a post with your nominations.

First of all I'd like to welcome everyone to the meeting, I know it was somewhat short notice (you can blame that on me). This will be brief. Just want to bring everyone together for a few minutes to say hello and cover a few quick topics.

First off, I'd like to formally welcome the members of Dungeon Lords to the guild. I can say that its been a pleasure to have the opportunity to run with those of you that I have and I'm looking forward to future runs as well.

In addition we seem to share a similar sense of humor and casual attitude while retaining the desir/o e to level and to see end game content.

I'd like to welcome Coloeb, the former GM for Dungeon Lords, to the High Council. We are honored to have you with us.

And with that, down to business:
